A Brief Summary of the Three Usui Reiki Degrees

First Degree Reiki:
Consists of two full days instruction and attunement to the energy. Four attunements open up the healing channel within you, whilst fine-tuning the physical and etheric bodies to a higher vibration, learning to increase and access the Universal Life Force energy.

The primary focus of First-Degree-Reiki is self-healing/surrender. You are taught how to give Reiki to yourself and others. You are also taught the history of Reiki, Reiki techniques, meditation, sharing information about Chakras, the uses of Reiki. You are also given a manual and certificate.

Second Degree Reiki:
An advanced course, which also lasts for two days. This is for those who are ready to go further, usually three to six months or even twelve months, after learning First Degree Reiki. This will deepen your understanding of yourself and enhance the power of your intentions.

Absentee healing techniques are taught to you. This enables you to send Reiki to any person or place at a distance. You are introduced to the use of sacred Reiki Symbols, revealed to Dr Usui, to increase your healing. The energy works mainly on a mental and emotional level, rapidly accelerating deeper levels of healing. The course is a superb medium for spiritual development, and has a dramatic effect on the progression of the individual. A powerful attunement is given, which intensifies the effect of treatments.

Third Degree Reiki (or Mastership):
This is effectively the teaching level of the Usui system of Reiki. At this level, you learn the Master Symbol and receive the Third Degree Attunement. You also learn how to convey the attunements for First and Second Degree Reiki, and how to organise and teach classes.
